I'm not shy.
With all the self-exploration and self-discovery I've done in my life to identify who I am and what I'm all about, "shy" has never been on the radar.
But I do find starting this blog has put me into a mode of reservation and anticipation that certainly feels a lot like what I imagine others experience when they describe being "shy."
There's a lot of vulnerability in putting something out into the internet for perpetuity that is meant to be an accurate reflection of self. Facebook and Instagram don't count because I hide myself from the wider world; here, I'm throwing up a URL for the world to scrutinize.
I'm a recovering perfectionist with a general fear of being rejected, so there's that whole dynamic to deal with as well.
The point of this is to draw on what I enjoy doing most: learning from others, connecting with awesome people, and sharing relevant information. I scour the internet for resources like what I'm trying to build here, because I haven't seen it out there just yet.
At any rate, this isn't going to be perfect, and that's okay. There's plenty of content I have planned that will get pushed out over the next three years at least (because that's how long I own this domain name for now). I have tons of interviews lined up, plenty of personal stories I intend to tell, and even if not a single person makes it to this site, I'm proud that I got started.
